Fulbright Visiting Graduate Student Program

Fulbright Visiting Graduate Student ProgramThe program is open to university graduates and graduate students. Awards include studies in master’s programs or post-graduate study in the USA.

This program supports either a year of research that assists in the completion of a “kandidat nauk” degree in Russia or three years of study to complete a U.S. Master’s degree.

Main eligibility criteria for 2023-2024 applicants:

  • applicants must be Russian citizens permanently residing in the Russian Federation;
  • have a university diploma or a bachelor degree;
  • proficiency in English (TOEFL scores no lower than 80/internet-based);
  • Fulbright awardees enter the United States on an Exchange Visitor (J-1) visa under a Department of State program and are subject to the two-year home-country residence requirement associated with the J-1 visa. For those candidates who have already traveled to the US on a J-1 visa, there should be a minimum of two years at the time of application since your return to Russia.
